I understand your situation, seeing as I had a similar one, I just wasn't able to use the CD in my Laptop. I advise you go over to 'Live Chat' where you can get a One To One assistance with proffesionals. You will most likely get a PC version, through Origin, so when you log into Origin, you will go to 'My Games' and then select your Game, without having to use a CD. You will however have to download the game again, but you *will not* loose your current saved households.
