@bella_patella What I think you need to do is download the manual version 1.67 superpatch and install (run it). If you redeemed the code in Origin - Origin should automatically patch the game to version 1.69, What this will do is remove/deactivate SafeDisc. That is the DRM that requires a disc to play the game. It also removes/deactivates SecuROM which puts an install limit on the game. Origin will become the new DRM. Windows and OS X no longer support the poorly supported DRM SecuROM and SafeDisc so EA had to switch to Origin for DRM.
