Re: SIMS 3 Game Frozen in Main Menu

@cancernabis  Try disabling any overlays you have running: Steam, Discord, etc.  Disable Origin in-game as well: hover over your username, select Application Settings, then the Origin in-game header, and disable the option at the top.

If that doesn't help, disable Game Mode and Game Bar; both options are in Windows 10 Settings > Gaming.

I disabled everything, even game mode and game bar. It's still frozen, unfortunately.

@cancernabis  Try playing in windowed mode.  Among the ways you can set the game to windowed mode is by opening options.ini, in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, and setting fullscreen to 0 (zero).

If that doesn't help, try playing in a clean boot:

If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@cancernabis  That's good to hear.  If you haven't already, you can use the 50/50 method to selectively reenable the services you disabled in the clean boot.  If the game works find after you reenable half the services, enable half of the other half and test.  If you see the same problem, disable half of the ones you just enabled and test again.  In that way, you can narrow down the source of the issue very quickly even with a long list of services.

I'd love to know which one was the problem in your case, especially since you have such an uncommon issue.  Please let me know if you figure out the cause.
