Re: Sims 3 sim dissapeared!

@mananala997  The thumbnail in the Main Menu is stored in a different file than the main save data, and it would only update after you played with the sim completely gone and saved your progress.  So that alone isn't evidence that your sim's data is still present within the save itself.

At this point, your best bet is probably loading a backup copy of your save.  Even if you never made one, the game retains the files from the second to last time you saved.  Inside Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves, you'll see a folder with your save name, and another folder with the same name and a .backup extension (e.g. SunsetValley.sims3 and SunsetValley.sims3.backup).  Rename the backup and remove the extension (e.g. SunsetValley1.sims3), and that version will be available to load from the Main Menu.

If your sim is gone from the backup save as well, please let me know whether you use mods, and if so, which ones.
