Re: sims 3 supernatural wont open

I'm out of idea atm.

Gonna ask and look around on this one. It's such a wierd issue.

One question though: When you go to documents\electronicarts\thesims3 do you have any files with xcpt in their name ? If so, what are their dates ? Could those be related to you trying to start the game ?

I have 8 files with xcpt. - what does that mean??

But they are from august/september this year - i installed supernatural on monday

Those are crash logs. You get them when your game crashes. 

Could you guys with this issue try the Process Monitor. It should show if the process ever gets started or not.

It would be interesting to know if the game ever gets started and then crashes or if it never even gets started.

You can delete those but it doesn't help. I was just wondering if the game crashes before it even starts or if it doesn't start. Crash logs can be an indication but if you only have older ones, than that does not help with the issue as hand.

So you tried the process monitor and the process is never started ?

yes it didnt start 

OK. I'll do more research on this over christmas. Really don't know what's causing it.

In the meantime I suggest that you also make a thread in the technical forum at the official forum and maybe, if you have an account, over at MTS (there are more technical people there)

Do state what you've already thried and that you tried process monitor and that the game never starts.
