[Resolved] Sims 2 and Sims 3 won't run after 25 Jan 2024; Windows 11

Since the update on EA App on 24-25 January 2024, just less than a week ago. I have issues with both 'The Sims 2' and 'The Sims 3' are unable to be played on my Windows 11 PC via EA App.

The Sims 2 will almost immediately closed down after a few seconds into the intro, while The Sims 3 will start the launcher for login like normal, then no responding after clicked play button with EA App re popped up. I tried uninstalled and reinstalled everything but both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 still cannot be play. This issues also include other The Sims 3 related program like 'Create a World Tool' to not function as well.

However, my other games on EA App don't have this issue.

  • @MisterLaTay  If you fixed the issue before now, you likely ran the Alder Lake patch.  The patch should work indefinitely, but its effects are undone if you uninstall and reinstall the game, or if you repair it (or if the EA App decides to repair it).  I don't know what happened in your particular case, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the App ran a repair for no apparent reason.

    The problem is absolutely, definitely, the CPU, or rather something about the CPU that doesn't get along with the game.  Some processors are always affected, and some never are, but in over two years, I have yet to see a case where one particular model is affected only some of the time.  No update or driver has had any effect.
