Saves got deleted?

So I saved and exited my game like normal, and then the next day I loaded up my game and the new game screen came up, as if it was my first time playing. I was really confused and looked into my files, only to find that my saves folder was completely empty, along with my current game folder. The dates for those were changed to the exact date and time that I loaded my game. I am really confused because I didn't get any new cc or mods or anything, and I know my game did not refresh because everything else is intact: my downloads, screenshots, etc. are all still there. I searched my whole computer and it didn't move anywhere, it's like they just completely vanished. It is very upsetting because I have had this one save for over a year and was on the fourth generation. I have a Windows 10 acer, and I have all expansion packs except for into the future and supernatural. I have no stuff packs, and I have plenty of mods and cc, but I know that is not the problem because I haven't got any new ones in a while and it has never caused any trouble. Please help! I'm too afraid to create a new game because I fear it might completely get rid of any chances I have left of finding my lost saves. ☹️

    I'm not sure, I searched in my computer files, but I don't know if that is the cloud. Where do you go to search that?

    @EmileeAllene Microsoft OneDrive is how Microsoft wants you to sync your data (I think). I don't want my data in the cloud (or anywhere else for that matter) so I've turned turned off the log in for OneDrive. You can hide OneDrive - you can disable Onedrive but you can't remove OneDrive. Windows 10 is a new animal and takes certain liberties as to what Microsoft thinks you want and just assumes you'll love OneDrive. If you are using OneDrive then logout of OneDrive then the data may not be accessible locally. This is the first thing that pops into my mind.

    @roberta591 I opened one drive and searched for "saves", but there was no results. Anything else you can think of that may have caused it? I was on a plane when I loaded my game and the problem occurred, if that helps at all.

    @EmileeAllene What could be happening is OneDrive moves the data where the game can't find it. Login to OneDrive and see where it is storing it's data. I haven't flown in a while - do they turn off the wifi on take off and landing?

    @roberta591 I logged into one drive and the same files were there...none of them my saves. I know I didn't have any wifi on the plane, and there's a chance I put my computer on airplane mode, but I'm not sure.

    @EmileeAllene I have out of town company and my grandson has taken over one of my computers for minecraft. As I don't use (or probably will never use) OneDrive my computers have not had any problems like this so I'll have to my thinking hat on (it doesn't say Trump) and figure out how OneDrive supposed to work and how OneDrive actually works (usually 2 different things). When an application doesn't work the way its supposed to programmers document it and call it a feature. I love my daughter I really do but after a week it's time for the chaos to go home.
