aeuridice First, please make sure that the world the save is in is loading properly. Start a new save in that world, have a look around, and if everything works, it's fine. If not, let me know what world it is and what happens when you try to play it.
If the world is fine, try loading the backup copy of this save. Go here:
Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves
And you'll see a folder with your save name plus another folder with the same name and a .backup extension. Rename this folder and delete the .backup, so it ends in .sims3 , and it will be available to load from the Main Menu.
