Uninstalled Sims 3 yesterday. Been kicking myself ever since, because I cannot get it to download again. It shows as being in my library and when I click on download, I get the "Calculating disc space" forever.My computer is exactly as it was when I ran it - it's only been a day. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the EA app, I've tried the instructions to clean the cache (although I don't know that it worked, because I didn't have to log back in), I removed the add-ons from downloading, I logged out, restarted my computer, etc but nothing's helped.Seems there's a TON of issues with the EA App right now but I didn't see a problem where the game itself won't start. Such a shame - Sims 3 is such an amazing game, it deserves better.

@gwenleah I was having the exact same problem and went to google. I was wondering if it was because I purchased a code from g2a but and was about to ask for a refund but it wasn’t that. All I had to do was click what folder I wanted it to download to. I thought it did it automatically but apparently not. I hope this helps you

@puzzlezaddict i just did that, and it won't download...it just says that an error has occurred, and to restart the app. I've tried clearing the cache, and it doesn't work ☹️...i've also tried unselecting all the expansion packs before downloading, nut they seem to be the only items that are even popping up.why can't we have nice things, man

@puzzlezaddict Thank you, I tried that, it's what LIIPapa suggested above, but it did not work.And, I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it's my Sims 3 base game I can't reinstall at all. I'm sure the packs wouldn't either but I keep removing them from the install process to see if the base game will install at least.

So far, 2 different replies from EA on my case. 2 different people. Each email asking for the exact same info that I already gave. First person said they'd get back with me. Second person told me to uninstall Origin and reinstall it?I don't use Origin, haven't since the EA app started. Didn't even know you could still download it but they provided a link for the Mac version.Not holding my breath for help, since they obviously don't communicate with each other, don't bother to read what the initial or following posts say.LIke, how many times do I have to say the problem's on my pc, windows 10 and I get no error> Ugh, just needed to vent. I feel for you guys who've been having this issue for months..

Well know problem to EA. Seems they are working on it for weeks and still found no way to fix it. Just get in Contact with EA help and hope that they will really look into it.

@LilPapaTJ007 Well, dangit, I thought maybe that was going to work for a minute! It did show the correct location was chosen but I picked another (thinking I could move it later if it did go through). It finishes calculating and gives me the choice to download but when I click on download, it just goes back to the previous download screen.
Lots of download screens but no downloading, it seems. Thank you, I'll try again tomorrow because you just never know.

@gwenleah and @soleida A few players have said they fixed this error by manually selecting the folder where the pack(s) should install. That would be the Sims 3 folder in whatever location you chose to install the base game, here by default:

C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3

@yawndre10 Was your download originally stuck calculating disk space, or did you see a different error? I ask because there are current threads for no packs downloading and for some packs downloading but not others:

I CAN NOT DOWNLOAD SIMS 3 ANYMORE, I UNINSTALLED SIMS 3 EXPANSION PACKS, CLEARED THE CACHE, AND DID EVERYTHING TO TRY TO GET SIMS 3 TO DOWNLOAD AND ALL IT SAYS IS CHECKING FOR DISC SPACE, AND WON'T STOP CHECKING, IT IS LIKE IT'S FROZEN, WHY WILL IT NO LONGER ALLOW ME TO DOWNLOAD SIMS 3, SIMS 4 DOWNLOADS FINE, BUT I HATE SIMS 4, SO THE GAME I WANT TO PLAY WON'T EVEN LET ME DOWNLOAD IT ANYMORE, PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU CAN HELP AT [edit: email address removed], YOU MIGHT BE QUICKER THAN EA CUSTOMER SERVICE IN HELPING ME.
