Sims 3 is not working correctly

@indycutie  Please test a new save, for comparison's sake, and let me know whether it's also affected.

Please also let me know whether, in your current save, the options on a given object change if you change the camera angle.  Rotate 90 or 180 degrees and click the same object, then repeat for a couple more objects.

@puzzlezaddict Okay so my current saved game from today won't load, giving me the "an error has occurred while trying to load...., please try to load again. I tried 2 times. A previous saved game loaded, but I noticed when I go to map view to send them somewhere, or even to the park, it starts acting up after that or even in Edit Town mode. It'll play for a little while, then my Sims cannot do things like showers or whatever whatever when they get home, or go back out.I have one that is a painter and she can't interact with the easel.

@indycutie  Are you currently using mods?  I don't remember whether you were when you last posted.  If you are, please let me know which ones.  If not, let me know whether you're willing to add a few.

If you don't want to use mods, there's only one good way to reset things short of transferring your sims to a new save.  Go to Edit Town, evict your sims, save their house, bulldoze the lot, place the saved copy of their house, and move the sims back in.  If you do all this in one Edit Town session, without also saving the sims to the bin and placing their bin copy, your sims will keep their jobs and relationships, although they'll lose their promised wishes and opportunities.

I'm not sure this will fix the issues with the save though.  If it doesn't, adding mods or starting a new save are your only options.

@puzzlezaddict No I don't use any Mod's, saw people posting about them, but I know nothing about them. I'll try your other way of moving them out and back in. If that doesn't work, I'll let you know and then talk about what Mod's to use. I also downloaded a few things from the exchange. Maybe got some "bad" CC from that. I will keep you posted.

@puzzlezaddict I also noticed today, when the EA app opened it says repair complete, and also only showing 531 hrs played. I had almost 9,000 hrs since I've been playing the Sims3, and I did a repair over 4 days ago🤔

@puzzlezaddict I just finished playing for about two hours. Everything went well. I sent them to the bistro for dinner later, they socialized and went home to sleep. And then WHAM, when time came for them to shower it gave that "fish/swim" option,or no interaction available on other things in the house. I saved and reloaded the saved game,now everything is working fine. Map view or Edit town seems to throw the game out of whack..what can fix this?

@indycutie  I'm not sure why using Map View would affect your game in this way.  What resolution are you using in-game, and are you playing in fullscreen or windowed mode?  The settings are with the other graphics options.   If you're not using a 1600x900 resolution, which is what your monitor uses (or at least the monitor you had a few months ago; I looked it up), please try that and let me know whether it helps.

If it doesn't, please also let me know whether the options change if you rotate the camera.  I mentioned it before, but maybe you didn't test because of the save temporarily not loading.

@puzzlezaddict Okay, so it was set on 1024x480 resolution in full screen mode. I changed it to 1600x900 as u suggested, it made everything very small. In the end I played the same family again and when they went to the movies( from Map View)and came home I tried to send them to watch TV, and again... no interactions available. I even went to 2 other families and received the same results. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the EA app? Cause it's still not working right. And rotating the camera isn't making this happen😥😥😥

@indycutie  Again, I was not suggesting that rotating the camera was causing the problem.  I was asking if rotating the camera changed the result you were already seeing.  So please let me know either way.

There's no reason to uninstall and reinstall the game.  Instead, if restarting the game after changing the resolution doesn't help, and please test that first, move the Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Load the game to the Main Menu, change the resolution to 1600x900, quit, reload, and see whether this happens in a new save.

If the new save is fine, copy your existing save to the new folder, but nothing else yet, and test it too.

@puzzlezaddict For the past few days I created a new game in another town. Finished it and moved families from Library, into the new town. This took a while, but so far no issues are occurring. I also deleted the saved games that were acting up. Hopefully this will help and no problems occur. Will keep ya posted😊!!!
