The Sims 3 Base Game Wont Install (MAVERICK)

I recently swapped from PC to Mac (For my major please don't start a "That's your issue you switched" thing here.) Im having a serious issue. Now I have Sims 3, My Mac can handle it. These are its stats.

8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
256GB Flash Storage
720p FaceTime HD Camera
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory

There is no reason for the installer to continuously lock up and say "Not responding." Can anyone give me some insight on why this wont work? Now I do have my expansions on Origin BUT the base game was a hand me down by a friend who registered it to his name on orgin and lost his info so I can't get it from him. I don't know if that makes a difference because it worked just fine for my PC and now it wont install on my Mac. Please help I greatly miss my Sims game.

Unfortunately I'm experiencing the same thing. I've been trying to get EA to help but so far, customer service is just going through the trouble shooting list and I'm like "I'VE DONE THAT ALREADY DAMMIT." I've spoken to 3 guys already, if I find a solution, I'll make sure to post back and tell you. Please do the same if you find a way out.

I know right. It sucks. So depressing. I was so excited to get my new Retina MacBook Pro and play my sims since the old laptop has gone bonkers and then I can't bloody install it. I've been trying to work it out since yesterday. Ridiculous.

@chauntel123: If the base game is not yours, you should get a new base game if you want to play your expansion. WIthout the base game you will not be able to play them.

chauntel 123 I BLOODY FIGURED IT OUT. HOLY MOLY OF SWEET okay I've calmed. Right so talking to C.S did nothing so I decided to carefully do it my way. Which thankfully works, oh yeah! Idk if it'll work for you, but here it is:

    1. Delete Origin from Applications (just drag and drop to trash)

    2. Open terminal (click command + space, then type terminal)

    3. Type this: sudo rm -rf /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.ea.origin.ESHelper.plist

It'll now ask you to type in your password, the little box will keep blinking while you type in your password but it won't show you the letters as you type so make sure you're typing correctly!

    4. Repeat the step above but type in this this time: sudo rm -rf /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.ea.origin.ESHelper

    5. Just quit Terminal

    6. Resetart computer

    7. Re-download the Origin for Mac from EA

    8. Install it blah blah blah

    9. Click on Origin's "origin" (top left corner) then choose "preferences"

    10. Go to general and tick/choose "update to beta version when avilable"

    11. Log out and quit Origin

    12. Re-sign in (an update will follow)

    13. Try installing it now. When the box pops up it'll tell you to copy the PRODUCT CODE to the clipboard, do that. But for me when I was asked to input the code for registration putting that didn't work. Hence, the issue. So I got my old hard disc version out, flipped through the little booklet, at the very end there's another code and I just entered that in.

I hope it works for you, it did for me. 🙂

Ps. If it works (fingers crossed) remember to fully update to the newest patch before playing.
