TS3 DLC's stuck on wrapping up - installation error

Hi all!

I've searched through forum but I can't find any answers, but it seems that many people encountered same issue. Maybe till now there is a method to install game DLC's correctly.

Unfortunately all my DLC's are stuck on the same part(I own Pets, Ambitions, World Adventures, High-End Loft Stuff, Late Night, Supernaturals, Seasons, Island Paradise, Generations). As the base game runs without any issues and I'm able to play it without major bugs, the DLC's are seen by the game but not installed, when I click to install them it takes me to the EA App.

I've spoken with Live Chat and they did some changes on my account, asked me to clear cache, reinstall base game, EA App etc. but it's still not working ☹️

So much money wasted to not be able to install DLC's. Also personally I've tried to download and open old Origin App but it says that the Origin is offline and I need to be online to do the first log in, obviously I have internet connection but I've been one of the first people forced to uninstall Origin and install the EA App.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions, solutions, methods, basically anything that can help me install those DLC's. Thank you in advance!

  • @AnimeSakuya99  Where exactly is Sims 3 installed?  I'd like the full path, as in, what you see in your App game library under Sims 3 > Manage > View properties.

Additionally, what do you mean that the DLCs are seen by the game but not installed?  If you're saying they show in the Sims 3 launcher's Expansions & Stuff tab, they actually are installed; you just need to check the boxes to enable them in-game.  (The button to install DLC is there in case you own packs not listed in the launcher at all, but the wording is somewhat confusing.)  But please let me know if you mean something else.

Finally, your dxdiag shows a number of EA App crashes, so I'd suggest uninstalling it with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) and reinstalling.

@puzzlezaddict Hi! Thank you for your response, I'm trying my best to explain, but English is not my first language 🙂

    So The Sims 3 is installed under C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3

Screen EA - that is how it looks in the EA App

BUT good news for me, as I'm not sure how it is working but after leaving it alone for 2 days as I gave up. Today as I turned the base game from EA App in Expansions&Stuff tab when trying to send you the screenshot, DLC's were not grey colored but looking as I could play with them, so I was able to turn them on. When I clicked play they worked and TS3 finally opened with them, but as you can see in the EA app they are still not downloaded and as I try to download them again there is an error occuring, that they couldn't finalize installation. So I can play and I hope that the EA App statuss won't be a problem as the game itself sees them and lets me turn them on now :D

Thank you very much for trying to help, but I think that the game that old is just not used to be downloaded so fast and it needs a few days to process the installation ;D

Problem solved, thank you again! 🙂
