Worlds Won't Show up in Game

iMac, 16 GB ram, Mavericks OS, I have the base game and all but two expansions.  I bought worlds from the online store and the following are showing up as installed in the game, but are not showing u...

    I owned two copies of the base game;  the first copy was registered with Origin, but I'd lost the disk so I purchased a second copy, but never registered it.  All my store content, particularly worlds wouldn't show up in my game.  Turns out that I should have used the new disk to load the game, but enter the serial number from the first, which was registered at Origin.  I stripped the game entirely, created a new user aco[bleep] on my Mac, loaded from the newer disk but used the initiial serial and ouila, the content is showing up now in my game.

    So, the gist of this is, your loaded game must match the serial number registered for your Origin/Sims 3 website account or it won't download store content into your game.

    Thank you for all who tried to help.

    (am still re-loading all the expansions but hopefully nothing else will go wrong)

They shouldn't. They are tied to your account. I've heard people saying that they are somehow are connected to the serial number but I don't use Origin at all and have no issue downloading and installing. It should not make a difference that you're on a mac.

Also you would have trouble installing them too and if the rest shows up, so should the worlds.

I know that macs don't have any world caches so it's possible that something is different. Did you try the mac forum over at thesims3.com ?

    Thanks for the feedback.

    This is really strange but maybe it works differently if Origin is not installed.

    Glad you got it to work though.

      I'm having the same problem that the installed Worlds don't show up under the Main drop down menu in game.

      The worlds missing:
      Roaring Heights
      Riverview

      I have a PC version.

      EDIT:

      I just tried the method to delete everything in the custom content folder and reinstall everything. It worked!!! thanks.

        I have the same problem...... i bought two worlds for the sims 3 and i intstalled them on the launcher but when i go to play the game they aren't there at all, even if it says install sucessful. i didn't buy them from store online. i bought the discs
