Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.264.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except, get famous, dine out, and fitness stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Buy animal house, purchase a cow, after some time of normal game play the sims will not be able to interact with cow. Animals and sims will stand in one spot and ignore all queues and will not move even if starving or dirty.
What happens when the bug occurs? My sims keep getting "stuck". It seems like I am constantly having to reset my sims, dogs, horses, chickens, and now one of my cows is stuck in my sim's inventory and I cannot reset her or get her out. when I click on her it only gives me "action or set as favorite". When going into "action" only says rename or open notebook. I cannot drag and drop her as well.
What do you expect to see? Being able to interact with my cow and not having to constantly reset my sims.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Installing Horse Ranch
This problem occurred after a few hours of normal game play. I was getting severely decayed needs or unhappy and thinking about running away notifications. When I checked on my sim, he was just standing still and actions in his queue were piling up, but not moving or disappearing. Same thing for my horse and dog. They were starving, but not moving to do anything and ignoring my sim when called to eat. The chickens, as well. Shift clicking and resetting them seemed to fix it momentarily, but it keeps occurring. My cow started doing the same thing, but the issue wouldn't stop after resetting her and the animal house. The only interactions that popped up were "actions or rename". When clicked on actions it gave "put in inventory or trade for..." . I tried to put her in the sim's inventory thinking that might do something, and now the poor cow is starving, dirty, and stuck in inventory. With all of the other animals and sims I could still fully interact with them, but with the cow I couldn't interact with her at all other than trading or moving her into inventory.

Hello,
I moved my sim family to a new home. The cow from previous home went to build inventory. It is stuck there.
Here are some solutions I attempted:
- “Reset object (debug) the new shed
- ”debug - create cow”
- assign a new cow….. it got stuck in build inventory too, until it ran away.
- Assigning the old cow to the new shed . It grayed it out, and I did not get an option to “call out” the cow
help!!!!! ☹️

Have been having this same issue for a week now.
I read that this "Bug" was fixed with a recent patch but, i guess it was not.
Animals stuck in inventory, they wont come out of it and they're impossible to just drag them out.
Tried getting more than one new shed, even bought more animals...😞
Moved the shade to a more open area, nothing.
How are we supposed to get this fixed? The game is not pleasant this way...c'mon!!

I just closed the game because of this bug. I decided to go to the fair, EA promised to fix the bug, but a new one came. There were no milk notifications, but my cow came in second place and ended up in the Sim's inventory. I, just like the rest of the players, couldn't put the cow in the shed. I was able to sell it through inventory. I also noticed that during the fair, I hid the NPC in the relationship panel. I wanted to leave only the villagers and animals. It was then that I realized that a double of my cow appeared in the relationship panel. The same name, the same friendship, etc...
These are the thoughts of a paranoid person. But I think EA failed to fix the bug when the livestock disappeared after the fair. It feels like when a Sim comes to the fair, their livestock is duplicated. As before, it disappears, but a duplicate remains in the inventory. Perhaps this is why we cannot drive livestock into a shed. The duplicate is not my Sim's property, so I cannot dispose of it

Well guys I figured it out! one word bb.moveobjects ! For those who don't don't know what this is, it is a cheat code that folks use when building lots. So if the person who built that lot forgets to turn the cheat off and then when we download one of those lots (even if it's in a different town or for a different sim) it causes major issues like this. It will also cause NPC's to stop spawning to other lots let the boba tea shop or other restaurants etc. So what you need to do is
1. Press CTRL+SHIFT+C
2. enter bb.moveobjects
3. Turn it off or if it's already off turn it on and off (just do so by entering the code again)
4. Buy a new shed and get a new animal for it that matches what you already have stuck in your inventory (you have a brown cow, buy a brown cow)
Now this is where it gets frustrating (as if its not already making you pull your hair out)...you have to neglect your new animal so it matches the same needs as that poor little soul stuck in your inventory, then sell the new one and assign your original to the dirty shed without feed in it.
I really hope this works for you guys, EA needs to get it together and fix these issues because it really wrecks the fun of the game.

Having similar issue. Did not submit animal to fair but moved house. Forgot to take llama out of the shed first and now it's stuck in my inventory. All fixes listed here-- https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/FIXED-CoL-LLama-Cow-placed-into-household-inventory-can-t-be/td-p/10534080 -- do not work for me.

also have tried everything and it has not worked. I am now getting messages telling me that i am neglecting my llama as i have left them in my inventory ☹️

Fluffy stayed in my inventory and because her needs were not being left she ran away.
I then remodelled my lot and moved the sheds and my llama Cotton was in the other one. Cotton went into the household inventory and then when i tried to place her back on the lot it said 'can only be placed on specific objects'
so you basically can not play the game with them as you should be able too

I have the option to assign an animal to the shed, but when I do and select the cow I want, my sim goes over and... nothing changes. No cow.
And you can't even delete the cow from your inventory to stop the notifications 😞
