The bug affects both recent and old sims deaths. Some Sims stay the same but some come back alive. I don't know what exact patch it started but all I know is before the February updates there were no problems. Also tried repairing the game, it did nothing...
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@lmjbserrano Since you are a mod user, did you test without mods/cc ? You will probably need to go back to a save before they started appearing alive and then remove your mods and delete localthumbcache file

@crinrict What should I do if I don't have a save that goes that far back, is there any other fix to this? Also can I still use my mods after this?
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@lmjbserrano Mods can get outdated so you need to make sure that you only use stuff that's current.

Do you have any other saves that have dead Sims you can check ?
I'm not entirely sure this is mod related but I think there would be more reports if it was an issue again for everyone (haven't had a chance to check my saves)

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure when this happened - perhaps it was after the last update but my sims are appearing in colour and not grey, even though they died about 4 generations ago?! Really annoying as I've built up quite a family tree. Not using any mods, never have. Running Sims 3 on a MacBook Air. Any help would be appreciated!

@0456f9c4ae7f2435 This is the kind of thing that can happen in Sims 3, without mods or even with them sometimes. I don't know of a fix other than to resurrect them and kill them again. The family tree will stop showing them soon though—it typically only shows three generations from whichever sims you're viewing.

Hi, thanks for your help!
apologies I meant sims 4. How do I bring them back?

Hi,
after last update my dead sims in legacy tree are not grey. Some of them, who are dead for just a few hours are still calling my sims and inviting them, although their gravestone is already gone and their souls too.
Thank you.

This issue is the same as this one: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-SAVES-Dead-sims-are-not-greyed-out-in-the-relationship/m-p/13534205#M272612
I'm having this issue as well, although none of my dead sims have actually come back to life (so far).

Same here. I`m not using MOD or CC.

Still no update to this bug/glitch? I stopped playing because of this, also tried creating an entirely new save file but nothing changed. Sims still appear alive after a few saves and no matter how many times I replace them the problem persists...
