I think you might just be looking at the wrong place or the wrong time, especially for the Brainiacs. You're never going to see the Brainiacs at Larry's Lagoon because it's not one of their meeting places. The Brainiacs meet at the Laurel Library 4 days a week (MTWT) from 3pm to 7pm and at Pepper's Pub on Friday from 8pm to 12 midnight.
You might be thinking of the Bot Savants. They do meet at Larry's Lagoon, but only twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday and the meeting is later at night, from 7pm to 11pm. They also meet at the quad on Sunday afternoons and at the bar on Monday night.
No exception errors, thinking to install TwistedMexi's mod to see if it registers anything. Haven't played much in a while. It's definitely not a "wrong place at wrong time" issue. No reason for the Debate Club to show up at Darby's for 7am breakfast.
The issue does seem to be associated with the "game clock" and only with buildings that have university organizations meet at them. Example: if i visit Darby's Den after a number of game-time days, I get a stack of notifications for events associated with the lot (poetry reading, mixers, etc.) And the lot is dysfunctional as described above. If I enter build mode, set the lot to residential, travel to the lot, enter build mode, change the lot back to it's non-residential designation, that seems to re-set the game clock for the lot and it will work for a while. Cumulative dysfunction gets noticeable after about 14 game clock days, and after 21 or so game clock days the lot is completely broken again.
Yep, the game is updated. Just did a complete repair and started a new game. Same problems. Think EA will give me a refund for an expansion pack I can no longer use? ha!
