If you want to throw in the towel no one is stopping you. I'll just be here replying to raise the topic and be annoying until they finally say something lol
I know what you mean, but you're working yourself up over nothing. The more we insist, the less response we get. You can be sure that the community managers have read all our messages and have chosen not to reply. Keep writing on this thread but you're going to be very frustrated and disappointed in the end.
The more we reply, the less likely it is that they'll continue to read the thread. What we should do is to reply when we find additional and helpful info that's worth sharing, for them to get help fixing the bug (such as the info on exactly how the eyes behave in Blender compared to in the game, as someone shared a little while ago, now buried on page 9 out of 14, but luckily also added to the first post), and if someone finds a workaround they can absolutely share that, and we can also answer replies (but sparingly, by keeping it on topic). I've followed this thread for a while, to see if we get some new info, such as official info or other info that could be good to have on this issue. What I instead get in my notifications, and the community managers also get in theirs, is a constant "this isn't fixed yet" and "they don't care" moaning. It doesn't go faster if we say over and over again that it isn't fixed yet, the only thing that does is burying the important replies, making it more difficult for the developers to get the correct information. So please could y'all stop burying the important replies? And before anyone says that I should do the same, the last time I replied to this thread was on page 4. The most persistent of you have left over 20 comments each since then. I want these bugs fixed too, but nagging doesn't help, it just makes this thread longer and less comprehensible.
However, if we don't reply and don't be on top of things. This bug topic will end up getting lost in the mass amounts of other bug topics that are now forgotten which will also be unhelpful for the DEVs. There are over 450 pages of reported bugs, and how many of those bugs are buried never to be seen again because replies ended up stopping, lots! If we only reply to the important things, such as information and updates which clearly aren't happening, this bug topic will also end up like the many many bug topics that are now long gone lost and forgotten. We need to be persistent and continue to remind the DEVs that this bug is critical, and to also make sure this bug topic doesn't end up like the other long lost forgotten bug topics. These eye bugs are just too critical and game/story breaking to be forgotten. Me and many others will never be able to play the game again unless they fix these eye issues.
@rjssim The issues are known. Cade has also kept an eye on this thread, which can be seen by him moderating out foul and TOS-breaking language of some posts. Writing here constantly and tagging Cade won't help, it only gives them more notifications about things that are not important for fixing the bugs. Of course we can bump the thread every few weeks or so, or, even better, tell others about the thread so that they can share their own experience to give more weigh to the matter. But saying that this isn't fixed yet, or similar things, almost every day, is unnecessary.
It is frustrating that our sims look different and that it hasn't been fixed yet, but our options right now are to either play the game despite this or to do something else, such as playing another game. Being frustrated doesn't help. I still play Sims 4, despite this bug, because, to be frank, even though I can see that their eyes look different, for example when they keep their eyes still (such as in CAS) and most certainly in some animations (mostly looking up animations and closing eyes animations), the thing with sims is that they move their eyes, which makes it so that their eyes don't look the same all the time, which is natural for eyes that move. With most animations it's not possible to tell that their eyes look different from before. Believe it or not.
And here's a screenshot from the thread of issues that are under the radar:
The thing is though are these eye bug issues still on their radar? The screenshot with the bug list says they are, but are they anymore, or have they given up on them? The lack of communication from them is making this whole situation much worse. Like all they have to do is take 1-2 minutes of their time to say, "Hey guys, we're still investigating this." Etc. The silence has left us with much doubt and uncertainty, and it's just not helping at all. We need some official communication letting us know if they are still looking into this or if they have given up. Being left in the unknown is making this worse. If they would keep us at least informed and updated on their progress on these eye bug issues, most of these replies asking for information and updates wouldn't even be here.
Also, I would like to say that I will continue to reply to this eye bug topic as I want to, and of course, in a respectful manner. I feel this bug topic needs priority and it needs to stay at the top of the list of bugs at all times. These eye issues are not just your regular bugs, they are game and story breaking bugs and are preventing many storytellers such as myself from being able to continue on with our stories. My story, like a second life, has been going on for 10 years and has now come to a dramatic stop, and it bothers me really badly. So, it really does mean a lot to me that these eye bug issues get fixed.
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope in early 2025 we will see a fix for these eye bug issues because I would love to continue on with my sim story. As a reminder to the DEVs, the eye bug issues include:
1. Eye shape bug
2. Lighter eyelashes with preset eyes bug
3. Eyes not closing all the way (All animations) bug
4. Eyelids going into eyes bug (clipping issue)
