I'm having this problem too. In Copperdale with one infant. When the one or both of the adults return home the infant is literally as far away in the neighborhood as possible in dead winter. Since it's the same neighborhood you can't spawn them back at home or have to send someone to go get them. So I use the athletic Sim to literally jog all the way there and "bring inside" the infant making them have to jog all the way back. It's creating so many little problems. I hope they fix this soon!
Luckily I have a magical sim that can teleport but one instance that sim would not pick up the baby so I had to travel with her and the baby and then travel back to home.
It happens to me all the time, even though their homes are baby-proofed. I haven't kept track of which neighborhoods (I don't have "High School Years" / i.e. Copperdale), but I think it's all of them. Also, if I visit a household with an infant and the infant is not there, I know that it's laying in the dirt or snow somewhere far away in that neighborhood.
Family of 5 sims and one dog. Mother sim puts infant to sleep and goes to sleep as well. All family members are now in bed sleeping. I put the lot on pause, save the game and go to play another sim family. Next day I return to the recent sim family with the infant. Mother sim is outside and the infant is miles away from the lot. The rest of the family is still in bed sleeping. I then have to use the cheat "testingcheats true" and click on the floor to teleport the infant back on the lot and have the mother put the infant back to bed. Will this ever get fixed?
