@crinrict This happened to me too and this workaround helped. Let the game speed up until time has passed and the other NPC Sim that your Sim was escorting leaves your side. I believe the issue is due to 2 conflicting features in the area:
1) TIE Echelon
and
2) First Order Prison Building
The NPC was supposed to go to the building but decided to sort of go towards the TIE Echelon and the game stuck, was unable to save and unable to click anything and unable to resume normal gameplay, at least until this workaround (quoted above) helped. This issue also happens in The Sims 4 base game as well as dialogue can become stuck and characters stay stuck until time has passed by. This is a technical issue that needs addressing.
