[ARCHIVED] [MAC] Makeup/skin tone sliders don't work when sliding to the left

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.42.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to work, seasons, cats and dogs, werewolves, dream home decorator, and outdoor retreat
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use makeup sliders brightness, hue, and saturation, and move them to the left, it won't change anything.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't make makeup darker nor less saturated, and I can only partially change the hue, it seems only the opacity slider is working right, but the left half of all others don't do anything to any makeup, cc or not.
What do you expect to see? Makeup doesn't change when I slide Hue, saturation, or brightness to the left
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I can't make makeup darker nor less saturated, and I can only partially change the hue, it seems only the opacity slider is working right, but the left half of all others don't do anything to any makeup, cc or not, anyone else have this? And if so, do you have a fix????

  • Still have this problem as of Jan 2025. I just moved from an iMac to a Macbook, and this bug is really upsetting. I spend most of my time in CAS, and I make a ton of custom makeup swatches. I really hope they'll fix it soon. I have an M3 chip as well, so it seems to apply to all Macbooks unfortunately.

This has also been an issue for me for a little while. Affected my old 2019 Macbook Pro, and still affecting my new M3 Macbook Air. It's incredibly frustrating and limiting, and I can't think of any way to really raise this issue more effectively with EA. I have tried mentioning it on Twitter but have gotten nowhere. This has been an issue for seemingly way too long.

This is still an issue after the latest game update (using a 2023 Macbook Pro).
