I've managed to clear my complete legacy save (almost 10 years old) with Sims 4 Studio. All this garbage seems to be tansferred to the lot inventory of rental and/or apartment lots. It's hidden and you can only see and delete it by clearing the Zone Object Data via Sims 4 Studio.
Can you please elaborate a little bit of provide a tutorial source or sth? I have sims 4 Studio but I can barely use it properly. :/
@kat-stvrd In Sims 4 Studio under "my projects" you have to open the save game

It's not an easy workaround and it takes some time. After you clean the save game you should not play with any dorm, apartment in San Myshuno/Evergreen Harbor/etc. and residential rental because then again items which can't be deleted will duplicate over and over.
For myself I refuse to play this game in this state. There are also other bugs but this one is not acceptable in my opinion.
Not even play, but visit rents lot also.
I visit family living in rent lot and doubled objects placed by tools
