[BDK] Sim goes outside when trying to vacuum

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Which language are you playing the game in? Nederlands
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? The most recent one
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Expansions: Get To Work, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living Game Packs: Parenthood Stuff Packs: Crystal Creations, Paranormal, Nifty Knitting, My First Pet, Laundry Day, Backyard, Kids Room, Romantic Garden Kits: Bust the Dust
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try to vacuum your house when it's dirty
What happens when the bug occurs? The Sim goes to the selected spot, goes outside and the action stops
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to use the vacuum to clean the house
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I don't know if it started happening after the latest patch, but I know it started recently. When I try to vacuum my house because it's dirty, my sim goes to the selected spot, then goes outside and then the action goes away. They don't start T-posing like in some similar posts I've seen here.

  • Do they have enough room to vacuum?  I believe for the animation to work, sims need at least a 4x4 (or larger,) empty space to vacuum in. They tend to try to walk to the nearest large empty space to vacuum when ordered to do so and maybe that is causing the sim to walk outside in your game?  You could try temporarily moving a bunch of objects to your household inventory to clear the room and then seeing if they can vacuum in it.

Removed some stuff to give them more space, and yes now they vacuum correctly. It sucks that they need sooooo much room to be able to vacuum though, it's pretty silly. Kinda regret buying this kit now

  • This happens to me a lot when I make my sims live in tiny homes, especially in Tier 1 or 2. The only fix I found was to move some stuff around so the sim has enough space or just to turn dust off.
