I recently got the Patio set which is great however I still need toddlers but, When trying to make my grill with counters around it I noticed the grill didn't line up evenly with the counter, it's like pushed back a ways.. I don't know if this intentional or not? I have no mods or cc & have repaired the game..

This issue is still present in the game. However, I thought it might be helpful to clarify that it's caused by how the collision box (or object footprint) has been coded for grills vs. counters (in all cases, not just this specific stuff pack set). Grills have a portion of their footprint set behind them: Counters, since they have been designed to align with walls, have their footprint extending in front of the object only: This offset is why they do not want to line up together. When the counter's position is reversed, the footprints then sync up and the objects can be automatically aligned. I wouldn't really consider this a bug, because the new counters and grills match the same design as prior counters and grills. I think what's new here is the matching design style and the way this grill has solid ends that look like it *could* be intended to align with counters. However, unless Maxis decides to change the footprint for grill objects (and I think they should consider it, as I don't see utility in having that footprint behind the object), you will need to use the ALT key to align them manually.

hiya k 🙂 i know you still get that little overhang that will be from any of the island counter tops the ones you can add bar stools to the regular ones seem to be fine hang I'll grab a screenshot from in game of one I'm making for you to see how they look and the difference although it could be a bug, a design flaw or working as intended :/ edit to add images of a different counter a base game one and the new ones either side OPPS edit edit the BBQ tools where in the way edit to add new image

Okay I think I figured it out....
As you can see with the bottom one the bar counters have no problem lining up correctly.
Now on the top they will line up if I put them backwards, but as you can see when placed facing forward they are pushed back.

when in build mode try this hold alt while placing the counters

oh P.S . for the bottom one there is a corner piece if you wish to place that instead of the island counter or the other counter type let me see if recall right

in build mode-counters turn off auto counter hover the mouse over the counter of your choice and click on any of the color swatch and there you'll see corner counters and end counters rounded corners OH and the same for cabinets too

Thank you both very much for all the help!
The reason I thought it may be bugged was because the regular counters line up perfectly when placed backwards. I know the island is suppose to overhang and that's fine.
Again thanks for your help and I will keep trying lol
