[BY DESIGN] Digitalistic Sketchpad not staying in inventory

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.51.77.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Dine out, Get Famous, Get to Work, Get Together, Seasons, Cats and Dogs, Holiday celebration stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have your Sim use the digitalistic sketchpad from in their inventory.
What happens when the bug occurs? The Sim does not put the item back into it's inventory. It is placed on a random surface and then I have to search all over to find it again.
What do you expect to see? That it is returned to the inventory after use.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Every time my Sim uses the sketchpad it is not returned to his inventory. He places it in some random place and I have to go to buy mode to search my whole house to find it again. It is very VERY annoying and I would really like it if it stays in the inventory after use. Is this happening to anyone else?

    I think this is by design, and more of a feature request as opposed to a bug. That being said, I'm gonna surface this, because I totally understand your frustration. Thanks for the report 🙂

    @dijaliciousUnfortunately I believe this is by design. It works like the tablet and does not stay in Sims inventory while they are on the home lot.

    I am not liking having to search everywhere for it either. Sometimes I use the enlarge cheat to make it bigger and easier to find.

    Oh, enlarging that thing, nice tip; that could be a good workaround if/when my brain will remember it. :D

    Edit to add: I noticed there's also a mod to fix this available on ModTheSims, for those so inclined/bothered. It's entitled "Sketchpad in inventory fix"

    Thanks guys. I'll try enlarging it. I don't really want to use mods so I'll do that and hope they fix it in a later patch

    Adding this as Unsure. Could be on purpose, could be not.

    Maybe if lots of people are bothered by this, they'll consider changing.

    It wouldn't bother me if I could just find the thing easier afterward. That annoys me more than anything. LOL
