[BY DESIGN] Meals at public venues/bbq's and spawn timers

Hello, 

I've gone through about 3 different families so far for the new Sims 4 Deluxe edition. I'm loving the game, it's great. I've run into a pretty serious issue though. After deleting the last sim family, I moved in a new sim family into the old house. After realizing that the previous family's stuff was still in the house, including the "elemental display rack", I sold it all so I could have a fresh start. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the rocks and gems my previous sim collected are not there (locations around the world map) for the new sim to collect. It seems that those gems/rocks/etc., are non-renewable as in they are not coming back. This is a huge issue because obviously that means that my new sim cannot complete certain collections like the elements collection.

Basically, I can't fill/complete my Elemental Display Rack because previous sims that I've played as have already collected the gems that I would get the elements from. How do I fix this? How can I complete my elemental display rack if the gems aren't going to re-spawn for my new family to collect?

I'm seeing this too.

Community Lots DO get cleaned up every night but the time for the food only seems to count down when you're actually on the lot. So if you don't visit, the stuff stays good and hence doesn't get cleaned up.

I guess the bug here is that it doesn't spoil if you're not there.

I have the same issue, except i haven't changed families. My original family can no longer find any rocks anywhere in the worlds. Surely, they don't just stop spawning after a few days of play. I have no where near completed my elemental collection or the collection of the mysims dolls and other stuff you can find in those rocks. ☹️

I have this, too, and the lack of plant growth is probably bothering me more than anything else, though I will probably get bothered by non-spawning dig sites as well soon enough. I know I could just freeze a sim's needs and stay at the lot for several days, waiting for plants to grow but that is very boring and really takes away from enjoyment of the game. It is literally watching grass grow. Or in this case a bush or tree.

At first I didn't mind as much because I was just playing a single sim, had gotten my don't-needs-sleep aspiration reward and I was staying out for days at a time. Cooking on a grill, using the toilets at the park. I'd only have to go home if I needed a shower (I didn't have the mostly clean one yet), people were around so I could keep social up. 

So I could stalk plants for cuttings. Not ideal. But now I've picked all the dig sites clean, and with the second sim in the house, juggling multiple aspirations, multiple jobs, needs, and getting the relationship going, maintaining friendships, working on social events... you get the idea, and building up to the wedding and baby... I'm wishing I had waited on finishing all the collections and some other things before bringing in another sim.

So I truly hope they consider it a bug rather than an 'effect' or 'feature' of not having story progression. 

Lot clean-up should be a separate functionality.

Do you have a sim that can go and stay on a lot where they should be spawning and see if they respawn at 5am game time while you are actually there on that lot? 

I am (for example) having the problem where lots are not ... maintaining themselves in my absence (trash/food for example) but also that mineral spawners are now seeming to take forever to respawn. They do eventually respawn but I have to spend a long time on the lot or visit it many times (the equivalent to spending a long time on the lot) for them to spawn. 

Do any spawners exist in the neighborhood area that your home/residence is? For example I have 4-5 mineral spawns near my home and they are there once a day. When I go to other areas, they are not there because I have harvested it clean -- but if I stay all day fishing and wait until 5am sometimes the minerals will respawn.

Yeah, someone even posted in another thread that if you have aging off, nothing every grows or spawns. This must be a bug.

I haven't seen this issue officially posted yet, though it has been mentioned a few times on the Sims forums.

I've started a new game to see if this bug keeps occuring. I sent a sim every day at the same time, for 7 days in a row, to the community lots, the 2 big parks and the coast areas (with the museum, gym, lounge/bar, library) in both worlds. The rocks spawned on the first day, my sim could dig them just fine, but after that they didn't spawn again. The areas around residences aren't affected by this, it's just the community lots. I'm not sure if everyone shares this bug, I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been playing a sim that loved collecting things.

It would be great if anyone else could also confirm the bug, it's not a game breaking one, but if you have the preference to send your sims to community lots for collecting, then it does impact gameplay.

@NevisDreams Merged. The problem is that they do spawn but only if you play the lot for quite a while.
