I just did further testing with purchased versions of the laptop:Save with issue - modded No upgrades: SecurableAfter Energy-Efficient Device upgrade: SecurableAfter ECC RAM upgrade: Securable Save with issue - unmodded, caches clearedNo upgrades: SecurableAfter Energy-Efficient Device upgrade: SecurableAfter ECC RAM upgrade: Securable Fresh save - unmodded, caches clearedNo upgrades: SecurableAfter Energy-Efficient Device upgrade: SecurableAfter ECC RAM upgrade: SecurableSo the catalogue version seems to be fine.The dumpster laptop still has the issue though, even with no mods and caches cleared.This might be an [EL] dumpster computer bug, rather than a [SV] laptop specific one.

I think this is an issue with finding it in the dumpster. The game doesn't register the item as being owned by your sim. I believe if you add the item to your household inventory and then take it back out it'll fix the issue.

@crinrict I did try without and I still do not have the computer security settings option, or can I sell things on plopsy.

@crinrict I just deleted the Localthumbecache. But the All Powerful PC still wont show settings. So I sold it for another which has shown the settings.

Looks like that pc is glitched perhaps.

@KeiAshurst Did you buy the same again ? I tested that computer I do have the setting so maybe it was just that particular computer and replacing with the same is fine ?

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Buy the "Personalized Portable Computer" (high-end SV laptop). Click on the laptop in Live Mode and attempt to set "Computer Security Settings...". Fail to find the option in the pie menu.
What happens when the bug occurs? The "Computer Security Settings..." option isn't available.
What do you expect to see? "Computer Security Settings..." on the first page of the pie menu, or at least somewhere in the list of computer interactions.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Working fine for me. Tried almost all the swatches.

There was someone else reporting it for other computers so did you test a new save that never had mods to see if you have the same issue ? Is your Sim a Vampire by chance ? Have you tested other computers/Sims ?

(note to self, find the other thread)

Could it be related to how it was obtained and repaired?

I obtained it via dumpster diving and repaired it. Later I also gave it the ECC RAM and Energy Efficiency upgrades. I didn't try securing it before that as the owner is not the sim with high Handiness and it would have prevented upgrades.

The other PCs on lot also have the same upgrades, but were bought via the Catalogue and they can both be secured.

@EmmaVane I found the other threads and for the other user it was a differnt type but replacing solved it. Dont know how they obtained it

Could be a dumpster item issue. Are the other computers same type?

No, the other computers are the BG cheap desktop and the CoL typewriter style desktop.
