Every single time I send a Sim to GeekCon, it turns out to be raining, even if there are sunny skies in the neighborhood I am playing. All seasons have this problem. I know events are sometimes rained out, but this happens 100% of the time.
Is this a glitch, or do I have incredibly bad luck? Is there a way to make the canopies over the equipment somewhat waterproof? I'm at the point where I don't even bother sending even the geekiest of Sims to the event because I know it will be raining and everything will be shorted out. It's like San Myshuno and Seasons are completely incompatible. And this doesn't seem to happen to the other events, like Humor & Hijinks or the Romance Festival. Why do the rain clouds hate computers so much?
I do have to admit that this was pretty funny and only could have happened during a rainy GeekCon, but it would have been better if my nine-year-old nephew was not in the room when this happened. 😮
- 7 years agoAha! I thought it was my bad luck.
As per my experience, if your sim family dwells in San Myshuno at a moment of GeekCon event, it is extremely unlikely to be raining at GeekCon.
Opposite - opposite. As soon as my family got moved to Forgotten Hollow, my next three GeekCon visits appeared to attract extremely bad weather.- SDPhantomGamer7 years agoSeasoned Scout
The forecast isn't synced between worlds like it is between neighborhoods in the same world. Since festivals run in a 2-week cycle, you could visit the area within a week prior and look at the calendar for a forecast during the event. Note the festival itself doesn't appear in the calendar, so you'll have to look for the day it should land on.
Beyond that, this might be a topic for The official Bad Randomizer Complaining Thread.

I've merged this with the geekcon rain issue thread although yours is a bit different. Guess it just wouldn't matter as much if the stuff wouldn't break.
As @SDPhantomGamer the bad randomizer thread would have been another option to merge
