Sims will no longer be stuck on client's lots after completing a home decorator gig.
Fixed in Patch 1.105.297/1.87

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Base, cottage living, get famous, city living, dream home decorator, dine out, spa day, vintage glamour, backyard, romantic garden, Grim's Ghoulish Guitar and Blooming Rooms.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Interior decorate at a client's house
What happens when the bug occurs? Sim A, Susie, goes to interior decorate at other Sim's houses (Bill and Cindy). She completes all the assignments, all steps have a check mark, the residents give their opinion. There is nothing more to do but leave. However, the game will not allow Susie to leave. Instead, the only option is to quit to main menu and reload which allows Susie to leave.There is no payment for the gig, and when Susie reloads back in the client checklist says they completed giving their opinion in the short list (show 3 things, get client opinion, chat with client x5) but on the long official list the client giving their opinion is suddenly unchecked. Now, when I log in to play Bill and Cindy they have the "check in with client" icon above their head and are in a constant state of "wandering" to ooh and ahh over everything. This occurs at their home, during travel, and at their owned businesses. Every sim I've had to quit on in order to leave has this icon still above their heads. It occurs about half of the time, but makes it too difficult to keep playing as an interior decorator since the "wandering" sims are obnoxious.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to leave a gig once all parameters have been completed 100% of the time, not 50% of the time. I expect that once I have checked in with the client that the icon above their head to check in disappears and they are not in a constant state of wandering around with the icon.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

I'm having the same issue. It used to work just fine, but after a certain update it just stopped working properly. The only way to leave the job is to travel using the phone. Sometimes the "event" doesn't end and you can't even travel. Then you need to switch to another member of the household (if you have one) and it will end the event. You still need to go back to your sim and travel them home though. It's very frustrating. And it takes forever to attain promotions in this career.
Im having the exact same issue even without mods, and this seems ti happen after March update.

The issue started with the High School Years patch.
Yes, incredibly irritating it started almost a year ago with the High School Years patch. Really hope the Sims team is aware and gets a fix out ASAP. Have to use cheats to progress in the career since that seems to be broken too in additional to gigs not finishing properly. I really hope a modder might make a temporary fix for this (although that sucks for the console players).
