I have/had the flower planting bug where it wouldn't tick off in the UI. Everything else in the event worked fine for me. So after searching for fixes, I took out my mods folder, repaired my game, made sure to delete my localthumbcache. After loading into my game last night the tasks were gone. I still have everything I was able to claim before, and I still have access to the event itself but the flower planting tasks that previously didn't complete are gone. Probably because I saved and quit the game, played other saves etc. I'm not willing to mess around with my mods too much to make this work, I find that a little too ridiculous to ask of people. I don't mind taking the folder out now and then for repairs and updates etc but going in and deleting/moving around other files... y'all I'm just trying to play a game not work in IT. I'm happy that EA is working on a fix for it at the very least and I'll wait for that to release, in the meantime I plan on removing my script mods before starting up the game next week to play the event. Maybe that will help. 🙄
