@missdeefying Yup. It's NEVER worked since the launch of ROM. Many players including myself played clean games for the sole purpose to show it does not work. At least not as it is marketed on the sales page of the pack and it's still not fixed. Sometimes on occasion if you stay in the same household as the sim you gave the portion to they will age up to Elder and go all the way to the end of the cycle to where they are supposed to die and it switches to showing how many days they have lived as opposed to how many days they have left like it is for vampires. Which is how I think it's supposed to work. The problem/error is when you leave the household is when they drop dead and you get the notification from a friend or family of that sim that they passed away. Then when you go back to that household there isnt always an urn or gravestone, and in those cases you have to keep playing and hope their ghost shows up to add them back to the household. In my case when I did my experiment/test save I created 3 spellcasters, 2 in one house and the third in a different house) as gunypigs to play as normal and made and tested the potion on (and made a vampire who lived with the first 2 as a marker for that household in case everyone died as well as for sheer comical amusement) Then I just went and grabbed Morgyn out of the magic realm as he already obviously has dedeathify and necrocall and added him to the other household with spellcaster 3 and just played as him mostly as normal and made and had him drink lots of the rejuvenation potion to keep him young while I let the other 3 grow old. Had him make a ton of immortallity potions to pass around. Gave Simeon and L potions too but left them to their normal Sage duties. Gave potions to a few random townies, aliens, mermaids, as well as normal sims too. Eventually all hell broke loose and Morgyn was frigging running, flying, teleporting around like a crazy spellcaster dedeathifying and necro calling 20+ people who had been given the potion by this point as everyone was dropping dead like flies all over the place. Simeon was the first to go, then L, then everyone else as they grew old. I dont remember ever seeing any of these supposedly immortal sims die off while they were active on the lot I was on. It was always the second I left and went elsewhere they would go. So from my test it does work as its supposed to....sort of. As long as you are "LOOKING" it keeps them alive. But it fails when you leave and change households. I have read other players however have seen their fauxmortal sims drop dead in front of them. That just wasn't my personal experience.
Point is the potion is a clearly mentioned sales pitch for the pack, and it doesn't work as its described or labeled. And still not fixed 8 months later officially. I guess the problem is more complicated to fix? 🤷♀️
In the meantime there is a mod that mostly fixes the potion until there is an official fix if ever one is released. At least if you play with mods or at least willing to use this one tiny mod to patch it for now. Cause a 100% clean vanilla game immortality potion doesn't do anything other than show an oxymoron in the end when you look at said fauxmortals ghost and see both "Immune To Dying From Old Age" and "Died Of Old Age" traits. Which is sad. I wanted to make and give it to my aliens and mermaids I want to keep in the game forever as you cant turn them into vampires. Without the mod we are back to having to turn everyone we want to keep into vampires again.
Vlad you had something to do with this didn't you? 🤣🤫
Dont mind me I'm beyond angry about it. I'm to the point of slap happy. 🤪
