Hi! I realize this was posted ages ago, but I have the same problem now in 2016, and I have tried the cheat, but it doesn't work. Do you know if there's any reason for that, or if there is any other way to fix it?
Did the child have the A before you got the aspiration or after ?
Are you sure you typed the cheat right while you have the Sim in question selected ?

Both parents have the same aspiration, and since they were the start of the "original" family, the kid(s) got "conceived" after the aspiration. They have two kids (not reached their teens yet, if that has anything to do with it?), and both kids have A's at school.
I am very sure the code was correct. I tried copy/pasting it the first two times, and then typed it by hand three or so times, all while having the Sim in question selected. I double (and triple) checked the spelling all of the times I typed it by hand, and tried to open/close the bar between typing. My game is in Norwegian, though that shouldn't have anything to say, as the base codes stay the same (English) for every game, including Sims 4.
This has got me in a real pickle :P
Thank you for responding and helping me out here!

Shouldn't matter if kid or teen.
I'm not 100% if you need to put testingcheats true first. Did you also enter that ?

Actually, it does, and the aspiration is suppose to say have a child achieve an A in high school, so that won't complete until after they become teens, but if you have an A in Elementry school its pretty easy to get because you start high school with a B instead of a C.
Edit I have tested the aspiration on the A in high school triggering properly if the successful lineage aspiration is not started first. This one sim one of their children had a A in high school, and when the mother and father both got to that level the A was autocompleted..
