I actually discovered that the trigger was due to my toddler placing their plate down on the coffee table. I'm not sure why that was happening but I switched the table out and haven't had any problems since.
I was able to go into build mode when the bug happened and was able to move objects around but they would disappear if I tried to undo anything and would just revert back to their original positions when I exited build mode.

I experienced this yesterday. Maybe this issue has something to do with showers from Discover University (showerBox1x1_EP08GEN_set8) or Spa Day (showerBox_GP02ZEN_set9) because when I removed them from my lot, the issue has not reappeared so far. Previously it always happened on these lots after a few sim hours.

Do you happen to have a save file you can share from before you removed those showers?
I play on console, and i haven't experienced this bug. Probably just on PC.

It can probably happen on the console as well, since it has nothing to do with mods and there are probably some other conditions that could trigger the error. But as soon as I place one of the two showers it starts. But there must be something more to it. I hope that the Sims-Team (@TheSimsDirect) can find the error and fix it.
