Items and career achievements lost/bugged after "Splitting from Household"

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.64.84.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Seasons, Famous, Together, Discovery, Work, Tiny living, City, Strangerville, and two freebies.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Split from household
What happens when the bug occurs? Two things: Some items in personal inventory become un-owned Lose career achievement item access from jobs previously quit/fired from. Examples: Boombox in Sim inventory (Simventory?) is no longer owned by that sim and if placed in world the option to pick it up is grey'd out, when the mouse is hovered over it gives the message "Sim can not pick up items they don't own." If you were in the criminal branch and earned the cool Matrix apparel from Oracle, quit, and split from household the outfit is no longer available.
What do you expect to see? MORTAL KOMBAT!!!
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

If I split from household the game has some issues carrying over items and career achievements.

 I read another post on the forum that claims I can fix the items by having a Sim with kleptomania trait steal them. Career promotion cheats are also possible to recover the lost career achievements. It's not quite bug related but it's nice when you see a "Me too!" bug to have a solution as well.
