hi ayla5421, I used to have this problem all the time. It turned out to be my laptop overheating. Once I got a better cooling fan to sit under the computer then this didn't happen. I am not sure if you have the same cause I did. But it might help.

my sims freeze in other cases. it is not dependent on the task. Also time keeps going for mine, my sims just stop doing things. I can still interact with everything in the game. this is a different bug.

@crinrict It has happened when I use the in-game computer, but it has also happened when my sims were standing around talking, or just now when my sim was going to craft something at a workbench.

This has happened a lot today for me and seemingly at random. I can only deduce that something happens when more than one action is trying to be done and it doesn't know how terminate the previous action cleanly.This happened while my primary Sim was trying do a woodwork project and was stung by the nearby bees.It happened again when he was writing a computer program (just sat there with a blank stare)This happened to my Sims date while they were out on a lot. The entire lot ended up resetting shortly after this too (drinks/books dropped, sims snapped to a default pose and remingled)This happened to my Sims cat when it ran away and came back, the welcome back just wouldn't work while it was stuck in place on a bed.I do not have a low end PC too, it far out weighes the required specs for the game and no frame rate drop occurs at any time. The sim just does not respond to inputs for up to 5 mins.

hi ayla5421, I used to have this problem all the time. It turned out to be my laptop overheating. Once I got a better cooling fan to sit under the computer then this didn't happen. I am not sure if you have the same cause I did. But it might help.

@ayla5421 Could you check your config log file if the game uses the card and not the chip ? You can open the file in a text editor and check what card is listed.

Also did you delete the localthumbcache file after removing mods as well as a game repair ?

I had this issue in big/full houses. Does hopping into build mode solve it?
