[OPEN] Ads Not Dismissible

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.111.102.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Almost all of them except LoveStruck, Life and Death and a few Kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game and wait for your ads to pop up while playing
What happens when the bug occurs? When your stupid ads show up in the middle of game play, we cannot always select the "X" to remove those ads. Then we cannot see what we are doing, make commands, or select items from Buy/Buildmode.
What do you expect to see? We are not stupid. We will know when we are ready to purchase more of your games. If we are curious to see if there are any specials going on, we will look for ourselves. If you need to do your ads, make sure they do not pop up on the middle of our game playing experiences. That is going way too far!!!
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

If you look at the picture, I was trying to get out of the game to go to the neighborhood screen to try and remove your ad. But the ad remained no matter what screen I was in and it remained even after I was on the UI screen. No matter what I did the stupid ad would not turn off, go away on its own, nor could be selected to be removed. It even remained until I got to my desktop and it still would not go away!!!! I had to restart my computer to remove it!!!!

ENOUGH EA. Just.... ENOUGH!!! Are you really that desperate to get customers you will do ANYTHING to get them?? This is a perfect way to discourage your customers... not attract more!!!

    Just wanted to let you know this is NOT intended behavior and that this issue has been raised to Maxis for immediate investigation. 

    I'll keep this thread updated as soon as I get any further information to share.

    I have ALWAYS problems with the giant, fullscreen ads, which I despise with passion! Whenever I try to click them away, the game freezes, and I can't even open my saves because everything is frozen. And then I have to force quit the Sims 4 and reload it to be able to play the game I paid for - EVERYTIME. This is beyond annoying.

    Further info: If I use the Esc button instead of the mouse to close the ad, then it goes away with no problems. But the moment I press the x with the mouse it freezes and I can't do anything else but force quit the game.

    I have the Deluxe Edition. I bought the basegame in the year 2015 and do not have the free version, if that is also important.

    I own every pack except Paranormal Stuff and Menswear Kit.

    My game is up to date with the recent patch: 1.111.102.1030 DX11

    Hello, with my experiences, it is with the standard edition of the Sims 4. I have almost all packs with the exception of the last two expansions (Lovestruck and Life & Death) and some kits (Goth Galore, Castle Estates, Dust the Bust, Carnival Streetwear, and Sweet Party Slumber). 
     
    In good news to our fellow simmers, thanks to another fellow simmer, I learned that if you go into your game options while in the game and scroll down to "Other" we have the option to uncheck "Online Notifications." 
     
    When we do that, those pesky, annoying little ads that get stuck no longer will appear in our games, nor will they appear before or after entering the gameplay experience. 
     
    Where many of us still have an issue though is those full screen ads. This does not help your abilities to drum up more business, rather it detracts. Not everyone is interested in every event that takes place and not everyone is interested in the same new packs that comes out. Putting full screen ads feels like you are forcing your products on us. Many of us work hard or are facing challenges in our lives. We all come to your games as a means of temporary escape, to relax and have some fun in utilizing your games as we see fit for such pleasures. But to flash these large and intrusive ads makes us want to stop playing... not encourage us to continue. 
     
    When it comes to game events you host so we can get more things for our games... put in a additional area for us to go to and select our ability to join or partake in them, much like what you already have with your "Play scenarios" option. We can see in the window the various new opportunities to partake in and join. But to force them upon us with these large ads and entering into the game to find your icons reminding us to play or join in... Not Working. Look in the forums. You are making your players angry... not happy or excited to see them. 
     
    We all have different tastes and desires as to how we play our games. So find a way to let us decide for ourselves if we want to play. You offer videos and introductions for new game content that is up and coming. Do something like that for us to watch and learn the dates that way if we want to look for them and play. These will work just as well... if not better in the long run for us all.
