[OPEN] Cannot talk to plants

If you reset a plant (right click, reset object) you can talk to that plant again if it is in season. I was having the same problem.

I reset the plants via testingcheats debug but the same issue persists, no Talk to Plant interaction available.
I also don't have the Seasons add-on.
I found the only way I could get them to talk to plants was to get their social skill really really low, isolate my sim alone on the lot, and click the social need to auto-solve it. Then I just canceled any attempt to use the computer for social need until they finally chose the plant. It didn't work with or without mods.
