I just got this too. My kid was out and was getting late when she had to be home at 9 PM. Cat send her a message that she should be home or she will get into trouble. Never happened before so first I laughed because it hasn't never happened but now I saw that is current problem for others too, I'm getting worried. It's not just a glitch 😖
I have this in a limited form & didn't think of it as a bug until I saw this report. In my game, when there's no human left at home but a child or teen is breaking a curfew (thus owning C&D & Parenthood are both necessary--plus you have to have a pet, the family bulletin board, & a curfew-time set)--when these conditions are met, the pet will call/text the child/teen when the curfew approaches, & warn of dire consequences if the naughty little sim doesn't come home right away.
(I do wish, when the child/teen is accompanied by one of the HH's adults/caretakers, that the curfew issue would drop. You always have implicit permission to break the usual curfew when the adults who set the curfew have taken you to a venue and are not taking you home themselves! But that's a separate issue, & I suspect a programming oversight or limit.)
