[ARCHIVED] [GRO] Child's confidence level does not change

Confidence trait from Growing Together stuck on neutral or lower. A constant barrage of activities to increase their confidence like endless homework and school projects and encouragement and aspirations and they stay neutral and get fears about being inferior.

I also had the same issue. During my playthrough of the 100 baby challenge, I couldn't get my children's confidence to raise by any means since the latest update.
I encouraged them when possible. They all had maxed skills, A's in school, and completed aspirations, so their confidence should have been high.
I was reluctant to age up my child, and even planned on cheating to resolve the issue, but it seems like it resolved itself.
Although the confidence level never changed as a child and stayed at neutral the whole time, they did get constant confidence buffs and also aged up with the high self-esteem trait. So I'm guessing the issue lies in showing the change as a child.

If you believe they should have high confidence, I would save and then try aging them up. They should hopefully have the high self-esteem trait.

I am also playing 100 baby challenge and was thinking of cheating but now I can just age children up.

I'm currently experiencing it with a child sim. he often has buffs about being confident and of course the confidence boost for the smallest things, but confidence stayed neutral and he got the fear of being inferior on top of that. There's also a very strange thing happening with the child creativity table, because he loses a little bit of confidence every time he starts working on something for no reason. He gets the plus way more often, but since the fear of being inferior is supposed to pop up when they have low confidence, I think the creativity table glitch might have tanked the confidence continuously while he's working. Otherwise, I don't understand why the game things he has low confidence.

Also playing the 100 Baby Challenge and currently having this issue! Child Sims engage in actions that have the Confidence + green text above their head, but their confidence level in the Simology panel never changes from Neutral.

Same thing happened to me. My sim's child had already completed two life aspirations and his confidence level remained neutral. I thought it was because he has the macabre trait, but it was the same with his sister. 

Same thing here. Used to always have high confidence and haven’t changed anything, but no matter how many times I compliment any of my sims, they’re stuck on neutral confidence.

I do see the +Confidence often, but during two “normal” length childhoods they’ve never improved.

I'm yet to see this because my most recently played sim has a Grimborn toddler. I have to admit..I'm okay with this bug. Confidence buffs have become WAY too OP. If my sims aren't in a Confident mood, it's probably due to a potion or unsightly splattering of décor in their kitchens, or they're wearing something they like. 90% of the time, my sims are Confident and all other moodlets queue up behind that fist.

Is no one else tired of the endless, cyclic 12hr Confident buffs your kids retain throughout adulthood with the High Self Esteem Reward Trait? ... Nobody?

Welp, my sim had to be in a terrible mood to acquire one of Lady Ravendancer Goth's Tarot cards from Life & Death... No simple task, that. The Confident fist now affects adult sims in the Reaper Career. :/

Same issue here. My Sims' twins both had High Confidence but now they're both stuck at Neutral no matter what I do...

@SovereignSimsPersonally I think the Confidence/Self-Esteem mechanic could probably do with a little more balancing, or maybe a toggle in settings like how Fame from Get Famous is toggleable, but I still think this needs fixing. In my opinion, my Sims' children shouldn't be stuck at Neutral no matter what, and I've personally found it kind of frustrating to spend so much time trying to raise the children's confidence only for it to never do anything and have no effect, especially when this bug will affect the Sims for the rest of their entire Sim life.

I am one who though they finally fixed the confidence system where all children would be confident because it was too easy to get, litteraly just going to school and then bam they are learning skills, wow they are ultra confident... In the other hand I tried so bad to make a child not confident and it was litteraly impossible no matter how much I was mean, discourage or do what was said to be devastating for kids... all my sims would end up ultra confident, and its pretty annoying. Now all of them stay neutral... I though they finally fixed it to be more difficult, but after many test. it seems its not changing at all... It would be nice, if the negative action would have more weight, but it was still easy to have confident children... so this way, if you really want, its possible to have kids with a bad confidence, but also, easy enough that with some efforts, they can be confident, but harder than it was... I dont know, I think its a good idea, but was not realized the best way, or tune I should say. I think fixing this bug, would help making this feature better... than it was before the bug.
