[OPEN] [GRO] Sim just stands there trying to teach bike riding

When it cancels, does it still say your child wants to ask? But the parent walks away? I tried this, my sim mom decided to clean the microwave instead and went inside.  I canceled that, and my child went inside...she was then taught to ride inside...proceeding to ride through the kitchen island, and the wall of the house.  

@X_xGamefyrex_XYou need to send both involved Sims to a public street outside your lot (I had success in Windenburg's rural district). Sims will not go to a big enough free space autonomously.

I have the same issue. The action just gets dropped. I’m playing at Potter Splay in Willow Creek.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except Highschool Years, Wedding Stories, a few stuff packs, and kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a child try to ask an adult/teen to teach them to ride a bike. I've also never had a kid learn to ride a bike yet.
What happens when the bug occurs? The child will ask and then immediately do some other interaction. No bike riding will take place. Sometimes they reset entirely.
What do you expect to see? An adult teaches a child to ride a bike.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I've tried on several save files, and none of my sims have learned to ride bikes or receive any mentoring.

Same here. Not only does asking to be teached does not work, but while there's a child practicing on the bike, if I use an adult sim to click on the bike it says "There's no child sim near by to teach" even though the child is literally riding the bike.

As soon as interaction is selected for child to ask adult to teach them to ride a bike and vice versa, the action disappears. Children are able to practice by themselves though.

This is an issue on console too, at least the Xbox One. I've seen some people say that an open space with no blockages is what works, but sure that's pointless. Having to travel somewhere new just so the kid can learn to ride the bike is ridiculous. My sims live in one of the new Growing Together lots, with a long stretch of empty road that could be used, if space is all that was needed. It's yet another thing in this game that's broken and needs to be fixed, but sure we'll be left waiting. 

I finally managed to get it to work. So I made both parent and child go outside the house, I made sure that the child had the bike in her inventory and I told the parent to teach how to ride bike, I was previously getting the child to ask the parent to teach her how to ride, so I don't know if the bug occurred because of that. As with others here I've had the action cancel and both sims stand doing nothing, even when outside and the bike in the child's inventory but I kept trying because the child has the mind and body aspiration and needs to learn to ride the bike for that, so I don't know what was causing the issue. Hopefully it works for others.
