I'm having this issue as well. All of my plants in the Cottage Living plots are *IN* season, but more than half of them are piles of dirt when they were JUST giving me crops. I left the lot, came back, and this happened.
But I'm guessing since this problem has been going on since 2020, it's never going to get fixed. Just like *****MANY***** of the other bugs.

Par for the course it would seem. There are 'fixed' bugs going back years that I still suffer from. In the meantime LMS has a workaround mod for this particular issue which makes the dirt piles actively update and show their life state, its in her Random Bug Fixes - Gardening Workaround Fix.
