Having the same problem. Cow stuck in inventory, getting notifications that she's starving and tired of being in there, no options to get her out. I've tried everything I've found on previous Answers threads and they are not working. 

Exact same problem for me. I've had the cow/llama get stuck in the inventory or disappear completely. When I click on the shed, I only get the option to purchase a new one. Same goes for chickens.

I am having the same issue with my cow getting stuck.It worked for a while but when the first one died I tried to replace it.  I bought a new one and noticed it wasn't in the barn.  Thought I didn't buy so I bought another one and it also did not show up in the barn.  Searched my house inventory again and both showed up finally.  Tried assigning to the barn, they won't show up in the barn.  I tried buying two barns, tried assigning each separately in the same barn and they will not show up.  They also disappear or fade out. So sometimes it won't let you assign and other times it does but they still won't show up in the barn.  However, the barn acts like they are there bcause you can clean the barn sometimes after assigning them even though you can't see them in the barn.  I have one barn with a lama and it doesn't come out of the barn unless you call it.  It just stays in the barn.  Have moved the barn around but they stay in.  Also, had a horse get stuck and starve then get taken away because I couldn't get it to move anywhere.  Even after calling it to the food.  

Sim got stuck not being able to go into the house but could leave the house out the same door.  Changed the door multiple times to see if I could fix the issue. It didn't matter. Had to close the game and log back in .  It worked after that.  However, I couldn't get the barn animals to work right by logging out.
