I've built a restaurant have a chef a waiter and a host and all the costumers are coming inside and just standing near the host not doing anything wont eat wont sit wont order and the host ignores them completly and while tapping on the screen continuously
please fix it i cant play it
I think you need to spin the podium thingumy around so it's facing into the room.
The wall might be an issue here.So either turn the podium as @reboot2019 suggested or remove the wall.
Maybe in this case it is just a wall issue, but I have the same problem - and definitely no routing is causing that as my host seats some of the sims and there is plenty of space around the podium. What happens is: sims come to my restaurant, some of them get seated, but some just hang around the host station. After a while they go and sit at the table by themselves, without the host, but since they were never really seated, all I can do is welcome them... and that's it. They leave hours later, complaining about not being served and decreasing my rating to 1 ofc (I don't blame them, they were literally ignored by my entire staff).

Did you try replacing those tables that Sims sit autonomously ?
Are you using any cc chairs and tables ?
No CC. No mods. Nothing. The tables are used by regular customers too... It is also not the same table always, I think they somehow get it assigned the same way as not-broken customers would. I don't think it has anything to do with tables whatsoever, my gut feeling is that they bug out at the moment host greets them and they stay in this half-greeted state till they leave.
What restaurant are you using ? Did you build one yourself ? If so, would you upload it to the gallery ?

Did you try moving the podium around a bit ?

I had a similar problem. I fixed it by moving my host station. I had a counter in front of it and that seemed to be blocking the sims from talking to the host. The guests did not seem to care that is was blocked or even try to be seated. I only noticed it was a routing issue when my manager tried to get seated. I believe I now have a counter to the right side but not to the front or the left.

I had this problem too and I was about to rip my hair out of my skull when I figured it out! Or well, at least it worked for me 🙂
All I did really was to move the podium to an open area and my host seated everyone with no problem. if you have the podium in a small section of the restaurant and a bunch of guests come running in then it will be difficult for the host and guests to move around.

I also found another workaround for when there's too many Sims wanting to get seated and it takes forever.
Open your restaurant from any off-restaurant lot and then travel to the restaurant.
This will avoid the initial seating crowd and everyone is already seated. After that they mostly come one by one which is much easiwer :D
I've tried your solution, but after the visitors have eaten, the same problem happens again. New cutomers come but are not seated.
How long do you usually wait ? Some are very engaged in conversations but get seated in the end.
Did you try replacing the podium ? Have you tried another restaurant to see if it's maybe a routing issue ?
Well usually only one family is seated, but the rest jsut stand around taking to each other, I have three restaurants in my town, but the two others, which I don't own, runs fine when visiting. About moving the podium, where should I move it to?
Make sure you have enough room around it.
Do you have a bar close by ?

Sometimes when some of my guests arrive they get seated but their order never gets taken, so they just wait around until they're 1 star then they leave. This has happened more than once and seems to be more frequent when they ask for a dish recommendation. I have no idea what's going on. This has been happening in my game since Dine Out was released.
I do have some custom content CAS items, but I've taken them out and the glitch is till happening.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this or work around it?
