Re: [ARCHIVED] Reaper's Rewards: Grim Icon Visible But No Quests Available

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Up to date (last update thus morning)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Cottage Living, Growing Together, Horse Ranch, For Rent. Outdoor Retreat, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, Realm of Magic, Dream Home Decorator. Romantic Garden, Kids Room, Vintage Glamour, Toddler, My First Pet, Tiny Living, Nifty Knitting, Home Chef Hustle, Crystal Creations. Bust the Dust, Blooming Rooms, Everyday Clutter, Greenhouse Haven, Basement Treasures, Artist Studio, Storybook Nursery.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open the game in any save file.
What happens when the bug occurs? When I opened my save file to carry on the Reapers Rewards Challenge, the button to click to open the awards window is there, and I can click on it. I can see the awards I have claimed, and where I am up to in the tasks, but not the little icon to open the Task GUI. I have played through a holiday since, and that one appeared correctly, but not the Reapers Rewards tasks.
What do you expect to see? The menu icon in the top right corner with the tasks underneath when I click it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The patch from this morning, but I have not played the game in a week.

I have already removed all mods and reset my save file after the patch for Life and Death. I left it that way to play through the challenge with a clean game.

Everything was going fine until the update this morning, although I have not played in a week, and so I was wondering if the fact the original six weeks has passed and we are in the 'extra time' part of the challenge may have something to do with it?

To try to fix this, I have:

  • started a new game with a new sim
  • completed a repair through the EA App
  • completed a refresh of the files (removing the games files from my EA folder in Documents)

I don't know what else to do to try to fix this, so here I am! I hope someone can help me, I would like to finish this before the time is up...

@jesmcd I don't know if it will help, but I wrote what I did, though I have microsoft not mac on my last post in this forum #816, page 82 tells how I got the update. The update did not show on the EA site yesterday so was totally unexpected and I thought it was an update for the reaper event.  Minutes before writing this I learned it was for life and death because on my ea.com site, no update was announced until this morning.  However, just maybe a step I did yesterday actually fixed my reaper event.  ? may be worth trying????  I hope you get to complete the reaper event!  Another thing I noticed this morning I didn't think about when I wrote #816 post, the residence I was playing did not have the flower or plant of the Orchid or death flower in the entire household when the reaper event started working for me.  So I am still doing the event with that household as I am afraid if I change households, it may stop working!!!!!

  • @jesmcd Were you able to fix your game? I'm getting frustrated, I really want to finish the event before time is up!
