I have this same issue and I do not have mods installed. I have tried removing my whole Sims 4 folder and allowing EA to remake it and it is still doing it. This did not start til the update on 7/23/2024.

and repair the game: open your App game library, click Sims 4, and select Manage > Repair.
I have done that. I removed my whole sims 4 folder and had the game rebuild it from scratch and it still does not work.
