Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Method A: Preform the "Analyse a Collectible" Interaction until you get a crystal analysis that returns a seperation of the same crystal it came from. Method B: Check your loot lists and see that you are not excluding the source crystal from the choices.
What happens when the bug occurs? Text is unimmersive. It says it "Seperated a DIFFERENT Crystal's Trace Elements" - but it returns the same crystal that was analyzed.
What do you expect to see? Source Analysis Crystal Excluded from Seperation of Different Elements.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. It occured for the first noticeable time after installing Crystal Collections Stuff Pack. Note I have not played in several months before this pack was installed so there could be a different trigger, but no earlier than the release of For Rent.
The Bug in question occured atleast twice within the span of an hour but has not repeated since, I do not know exactly what the conditions are to trigger the seperation of crystals text, but I would assume that it's a text issue with the dialogs. I'd say the probability is an even 50% given that in the time I have played the game on scientist career 2 of 4 analysis' have resulted in dupes.
