I have the exact same problem, except for me nothing triggered or disappeared. I thought maybe I needed to find these places myself but I couldn't.  For both the opera and the warehouse party, the time just passes by without anything happening.

I've got the same problem. So my sim has befriended a neighbor in her apartment building, and twice now he's invited her to events I've never heard of or seen in the game before. The first invite was via a phone call where he asked her to go to the opera (can't remember which neighborhood) at eight (no idea if am or pm). But when eight rolled around, nothing happened. The second time this same neighbor invited her to a party of some sort in an underground warehouse in the fashion district at 10 (again, never said am or pm). Well now both 10 am and 10 pm have passed and there was no sign of this event happening or my sim going off to this event by herself or anything. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be at home for it to trigger her going to these events, or to head to the district the guy said the event was in or what. I'm stumped! What are these random invites and how do I do anything about them? Any ideas?

They just don't work as intended.

I'm having this as well, but nothing triggers at all.  I get the call, I accept the invite.  I'm told the time.  The time comes and goes and my sims never attempt to leave the apartment or go anywhere at all. Its as if the invite never came at all.

It's currently not working correctly as it should

My sims also are often invited to non excisting events, concerts, circus, etc.

when you go there there is never such a thing at all

and I don't like it

I mean you get tiggled by it

then you let your sim go there

and you find nothing but questions

it is annoying

I wonder:

why does this happen?

is it meant to be funny?

or to tiggle creativityof simmers?

or is it a silly kind of bug?

I like this to be solved 

but I also want it to be answered by EA

I think they own that to us simmers...

I think it's been established that it's a bug

Maybe the bug is only affecting living in apartments.

Have you tried if it works in San Myshuno if you build a house on one of the lots you can build on and live there ?
