My solution is to always have enough hens to hatch the eggs. If I have all roosters, the eggs will spoil & a sim throws them away. If I have 2 hens, but 3 hatchable eggs, one will spoil and again, a sim throws it away.
So, make sure you have at least 2 hens when hatching 2 eggs, 3 hens for 3 eggs, etc.
My eggs aren't hatching even when I watch them like a hawk and cancel any attempts to throw them out. I watched them for a full sims week and they just stayed spoilt.
I'm having this issue too and plenty of folks in the comments have left save files. EA, please take a look at this because this is the worst.
It have been happening to me too, no mods, and lost two golden eggs this way. At first I put them in the coop, and you could see the timer etc... but the next morning it was spoiled and I had a sim clean the coop which he did, but right after came back to the coop and remove the eggs to throw them in the garbage.
It is still happening, its been months, we have sent plenty of saves, how difficult could it be to fix this? Maybe taking a break from releasing more and more buggy expansions and instead spend some time fixing bugs would help.
