Thanks 🙂
I placed it with MOO off and it looked great. No floating lights or columns and no lights or columns above the lot in map view either. I bulldozed it and placed it again with MOO enabled and the lights and columns are now floating and I can see them in map view.
MOO disabled:
MOO enabled:
It seems it only occurs with MOO enabled. Did this happen after you saved the lot, quit, and then went back to it? When I placed without MOO there was no mailbox on the lot, I guess you placed with MOO?
@Sindel910
Merged your post and the San Myshuno one I mentioned earlier together.
I did manage to sledgehammer the lights and columns floating above your building they no longer showed up on the map view above the lot.SHOOT!I totally made a mental note to tell you something but I forgot to mention it last night when I was replying! With MOO disabled, it deletes the pillars that are usually moved up. Plus, having it disabled will delete many objects I placed using MOO. I was actually going to type out in the description of my builds to make sure the player has moveobjects on otherwise the builds will be placed incomplete! So, when I tried with MOO disabled many objects are deleted, such as outside pillars and many more. Which is why I need to place it with MOO enabled. This happens for builds not in penthouse lots as well, the fact that if I place them with MOO disabled, objects I placed using it will disappear. I totally forgot to mention that to you last night.
You can also see in the pictures that placing the lot with MOO disabled deletes the roof objects. It's why I always make sure to place lots with the cheat on.

Yeah, I figured you need MOO so the items aren’t removed but this seems to be a specific issue with penthouse builds and placing items on high levels. They seem to suddenly jump into the sky.
Were the lights on the floor directly below the roof? I honestly just want to report the issue to EA or someone so it could be fixed. It's driving me up a wall!
Lights on the floor? The chandeliers that jump above the lot were in all different kinds of places. I couldn't find a similarity.
This sounds similar to my problem. I have a complete floating festival in San Myshuno Arts Quarter. It is only visible from the penthouses and in cameraman mode. The objects float so high above the ground that from a distance they look like a zeppelin (screenshot 1), only zooming in closer reveals their nature (screenshot 2). At night they light up (screenshot 3).
- siirysiir4 years agoSeasoned Ace@EnkiSchmidt I can't tell from this picture which festival this is but could you try playing your game and wait for when this festival happens again? Because in my game when it was time for that setup to be present in my neighbourhood, the set did not respawn properly but some vendors came by and just stood around bc they obviously couldn't route to tend the stalls. With more input we could at least describe the issue in more detail. I just thought gathering more information wouldn't hurt. 🙂
Yeah the vendors stand there doing nothing because the food stalls spawn in the sky :D It is definitely not every stall though, only some.
When i play in the rich district (in the south with the tall buildings) and look up, there are at least 3 sets of stalls in the sky at different places. But like 2 food stalls still spawn properly on the ground, the rest don't (they rotate every X hours). I also noticed some flowers from the romantic festival will stay there even after the event is over and disappears.
Played another few hours in Sulani & everything is good there, no flying stuff.
Funny sidenote: all the trees i placed with TOOL mod in the city are also cuddled up in the sky with the food stalls.
- siirysiir4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@TenseijkenSo just to be absolutely clear: the stalls in the sky stay there and never go away, right?
(I'm afraid to play in any new neighbourhoods in San Myshuno bc I'm afraid I'll get even more stalls in the sky D: ) Yeah seems like they stay there. I checked all districts and the only one without any floating stalls is the one you mentioned (with the spice festival).
Some pictures:
1 - Rich district (this one is still working correctly)
Four floating stalls.
2 - Fashion district (these 2 are identical food stalls & also include flowers from the romantic festival)
3 - Bonus: My floating trees that i placed with TOOL :D (rich district)
As you can see on the images, it's not only food stalls, but it also affects other random objects in the world which are not connected to the events or food stalls, including: coffee cups, cardboard crates, music instruments etc.....
- siirysiir4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@TenseijkenYeah same, I also have coffee mugs (why do those stay in the world in the first place??) and cardboard boxes among with other world objects that I'm assuming are just part of that set (except for the coffee cups, like why????). The trees look like they'd look gorgeous if not floating in the sky. :D So basically yeah these pics are warning enough, I'm not going to be playing in Fashion district anymore then. "🙂"
edit: I wonder if we should start a new bug thread with only this very specific problem in San Myshuno because some of the first posts in this thread might be a bit misleading to someone coming fresh to this thread? Albeit hilarious, this "There appears to be a giant baby above your lot" isn't the same issue and I just worry if people come looking for a thread about floating festival stands they might miss the posts where it is actually discussed..
@siirysiir It's the Mischief festival. I haven't gotten around to playing it again, but I have some complementary infiormation about Spice Market, in case that helps:
My sims got a notification about the Spice Festival starting. Upon arriving at Spice Market, the festival was there, but there were also two apartment complexes floating in the sky. Right below those was a floating festival and in the opposite direction were two floating festivals overlapping each other. The real festival worked normally and despawned properly. After it despawned, there were no changes to the ones in the sky.
I don't even play in that district at the moment, but my paranormal investigator (living in Newcrest) got called to solve a case at Spice Market recently. So I can only venture a guess that this was the night the game copied the apartments into the sky. I say copy, because the shells themselves are still where they belong.
- siirysiir4 years agoSeasoned Ace@EnkiSchmidt APARTMENTS?! This is getting wild. Sounds like the way the festivals spawn is different from how the more casual foodstall sets are spawned..? But anyway it seems that whenever stuff ends up in the sky, it will never be removed which is super annoying. I wish we had a way to deal with this and be able to manually remove stuff from the world that doesn't belong there...
Whole apartments floating? Wow, can you take a screenshot? This is getting crazy. At this point i might have to avoid playing in San Myshuno...
@siirysiirThe coffe cups staying in the world is an even older bug that was never fixed. For whatever reason, Sims in the city will put down coffe cups & food dishes after they finish. I had to walk around picking stuff up and getting rid of them manually with my Sim every once in a while. (might have to do with how some of the trash cans were / are broken, i dunno)
And yeah, we can't really delete stuff from the city, especially festival stuff. I tried that months ago and it will lead to Last Exception errors or even crashes. Better not touch anything 😞On second look maybe they aren't the apartment shells, after all, but generic background buildings, but whatever they are, they float. I circled what looks like food stalls in the one screenshot, the other shows two overlapping floating Spice Festivals.
On a sidenote, I played through a festival in Sulani and found no irregularities. The two neighborhoods with festivals in Mt. Komorebi are unaffected, too, as are the two with apartments in Evergreen Harbour. Only San Myshuno has the bug.
- siirysiir4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@EnkiSchmidtyeah those look like the buildings surrounding our apartment shells but world objects nevertheless. I'm starting to worry now. Like how much stuff can end up there??? D:
Also, just a tip: you can press Tab on your keyboard (if you're on pc) and then use controls q,e, w,a,s,d to move around in tab camera mode and get closer to the objects to get a better look on the stuff in the sky. 🙂@Tenseijken argh okay thanks for the heads up though that I shouldn't go meddling with the extra objects myself. :E
I guess I need to find that old bug report thread then. I'm not even able to interact with them though! I mean if there's a take-away coffee on the ground (in my case it's probably Spice district) I can't even click on it. >:/
@siirysiir I know how to use camermanmode - look at my first post again, there you can see the difference between what it looks like from the rooftop (first screenie) and with the tab controls (second and third screenie). However, at some point the camera just wobbles away and won't let me get any closer. I can move under the displaced festivals, but not into them. (Might be because I use a mod that allows to zoom closer to the ground for better pet screenshots).
I have returned once more in these trying times of suffering to present this message to fellow Sims that, yes, objects are indeed still floating high above San Myshuno.
@siirysiirI think it's time to leave the city behind, come to the beautiful island of Sulani! The weather is nice and everything stays on the ground (except the birds...).
- siirysiir4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Tenseijken haha I completely feel you. To be honest, I've gone one step more and basically left The Sims 4 behind because it's such a buggy mess right now. (If I play, I just build or at most grow chickens in Henford-on-Bagley. I tried Britechester for a bit but Discover university is even more buggy than City living right now! :D)
There is a lot i want to say but the last time i posted something slightly negative about the game, my post got instantly removed by an EA Admin.
But yeah, i can understand your choice. I think that a lot of people will do the same now & in the near future. There are so many problems, some for months or even years. And people don't like it when they find out that the new DLC pack that they just bought is pretty much broken or unplayable. It is no mystery that Maxis don't have the time or resources to fix all these issues.
I have invested so much time into this game, over 2.000 hours in my current save file. The only reason why i'm still here is because the Sims is pretty unique and there is no alternative (yet) and because Mods improve the game by 300 %. I don't know how console players endure all this...
- siirysiir4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Tenseijken oof that kind of censorship is a major yikes. :0
Poor console players, every time I have to play a fresh vanilla game (to report bugs, I would never do it otherwise) it's just mind boggling like "wow this truly sucks". There's so much annoying autonomous behaviour that I got rid of with mods in addition to all the bug fixing mods I can find that playing vanilla is infuriatingly frustrating. With mods you kinda forget how the game really is. :D It's just sad bc this game has potential, if they just fixed the bugs and the lag I wouldn't mind if they didn't release any new content for a year or more. - TheSimsDirect12 months ago
