I made the mistake of trying to put an infant into a crib last night. How did that go?

I threatened to delete the infant and murder all the adult caregivers. Finally I locked the door to everyone in hopes that they would allow the infant to sleep.

Every member of the household stood in front of the nursery door and pathing waved, including the cat… which is nightmare fuel tbh.

Also the infant didn’t sleep. There was no “try to go night night” option, so her energy went deeper and deeper into the red while she screamed and cried.

Finally, I woke her mother and made her bake a cake. The vile little beast got Top Notch Infant. 🤦‍♀️

I should have followed my own advice and deleted my crib.

I think maybe part of the problem is the way a lot of actions are actually groups of actions? Combined with the priority they’ve given “check infant” allowing it to cancel even interactions with the infant.

For example - “bottle feed” breaks into 3 actions: pick up, cuddle, feed. And “put to sleep” on the crib is actually talk, pick up, put in crib, soothe to sleep.

But when check infant gets too… enthusiastic… (which is more common when the infant has a low need) it will interrupt and cancel the queue. So if your infant is hungry, you’ll tell your Sim to bottle feed. This will go into the queue, then turn into the first action, pick up. But then along comes Check Infant which goes oh no! The kid is Hungry! Cancel everything and feed them! So it cancels the pick up to replace with feed. So the Sim puts the kid down (due to pick up canceling) then queues feed. Which then turns into feed’s first step, pick up. Rinse and repeat…
