Re: [FIXED] [PC] Stop and go Lags/freezes since Patch 1.88 (Pronouns)

@crinrict then why didn't they say that in the first place? why wait an entire day? If they had have said that in the first place then the situation would be very different. Do you get where I'm coming from? Even though mod's aren't saying it directly, when you ask an end user to give you a dx dialog and their system specs and say nothing else, the unspoken implication is that it must an issue with the end user's rig. The right way to go about it is like this - "Thank you for reporting this issue, I will pass it onto the developers. Just to cover all bases, a DX Dialog as well as your system specs would be appreciated, just so we can rule out all possibilities on the off-chance that it is not the patch. Thank you once again for reporting this issue." If i reported an issue and that was the response i got, I'd be very happy to comply. The way it is currently done doesn't leave a good taste in the mouth. It makes people feel as if they've done something wrong. It's not good PR. Again, i really think EA should go back to establishing a beta-testing community to prevent this kind of stuff up occurring. And I'm pretty certain a lot of other people here would agree with me on that.

As I suspected, a complete re-install of the game didn't work - game still will not even start. I am running a Radion R3 graphics card, have well over 800 GB free space on the hard drive. Prior to the patch, I had no problems running the game. My HP laptop does not have a cd-rom drive, so everything is directly downloaded from the internet. Please let us know when this will be fixed. And when i say fixed i mean problem addressed beta-tested by people who are in no way affiliated with EA/Maxis and then finalized before release. Until then, I will not be playing the game and will not be purchasing any more packs or kit associated with the game.

@crinrict Again, it wasn't until well after the problem was reported that it was said by an EA official. Prior to that, all people were hearing from moderators was "DX Dialog, system specs," ad nauseum and then "We think it's an AMD issue". Cade's response was at the bottom of page seven, and that was less than 12 hours ago. So that puts it at almost a day after the patch was released. Not a good enough record. I'm sorry, but I'm going to stick my guns on the poor PR effort being shown by EA and the moderator team. Prove me wrong.

@YungAngry It's just because a post was marked as solution for visibility (so people see EA is aware). It's unfortunately the only way you can pin messages in a thread at AHQ.

@anasofiamirax I merged your post with the existing thread on this issue. Could you please provide the info asked on the first page.
